Ms. Gracen's debut novel is impressive, with rich, vivid descriptions that allows the reader to participate in Lydia and Sam's journey to love. She is an expert at writing group dialogue, and I enjoyed those interactions immensely. I found Sam a little too-good-to-be-true at times, considering they've just met, but isn't a romance hero supposed to be Mr. Wonderful? It's also possible that the author meant for us to share Lydia's concern that he cannot be as good as her first impression indicates. Maybe that's why Lydia seeks reassurance from her friends about him. This is not a book to skim through, but to savor with a favorite beverage while relaxing the day away. I look forward to reading the next book in the series, where I will learn how Lydia and Sam navigate the next phase of their romance!

This is a wonderfully heart-warming book. Love comes along when Lydia least expects it. All she wanted was a weekend away to relax at her friend's wedding. But her heart rate doesn't get a break around Sam.
I really enjoyed this book. The characters are well developed and the dialogue is great - heartfelt, and full of sizzle and snap as it needs to be.
This is the first book of the Seasons of Love series. There will be four books in total. I'm looking forward to following the lives and love of Sam and Lydia in Gracen's next book.
I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. And then I liked it so much, I bought my own copy.
From the very first page I was captivated and pulled into the story - so much so that I felt like I was also at the inn for my friends wedding… Jennifer Gracen did a fabulous job of taking us along for the ride as Sam and Lydia met and fell in love… She perfectly portrayed these complex characters allowing the reader to really understand and feel their emotions. There was the perfect amount of tension and heat, and I loved all of the supporting characters. I found myself often smiling as I turned the pages and I have to admit I was disappointed when the story ended. I wanted more! Fortunately Gracen has more in store for us…I can't wait to read the next book in this wonderful series....
Being newly divorced from a man who did nothing but belittle her and having a son who is very delayed in his speaking, Lydia is ready for a weekend away for her friend's wedding. She has learned over the years to put up a barrier to protect herself. In the lovely setting of the wedding she meets Sam, who wants to break down her walls. There is an immediate attraction for both of them, but is she brave enough to "let go"? This book was so good that I immediately ordered the second in the series to find out what will happen with Sam and Lydia.
Reading Autumn Getway is like being wrapped in your favorite blanket with a warm cup of coffee as you reminisce with your dearest friend. After reading so anyway novels I couldn't have been more receptive to Jennifer Gracens New novel about friendship and letting go of the past. Yes, it is very Nora Roberts esque and follows the predictable format of man meets women and both have baggage. What set this apart is the fantastic characters. I liked them, I rooted for them,and I am thrilled that there are 3 more books!

Perfect rainy day by the fire book. I recommend you give it a shot.

Oh my gosh...I bought all 4 of these books in the series and can't even force myself to get through this first one. After writing this review I'm going to be checking to see if they can be returned. The dialog is written as if this is a young teen book and just plain silly. The story line is cliché and the writing repetitious, for example, how many times do we need to read abut Lydia's divorce and Melanie finding the good guy the second time around. Lydia is 37 years old and she refers to Melanie as "Bridey Girl". Seriously? It seems as if the writer is trying to write folksy and just isn't hitting that stride. Had I made it through the book I would say it's horrible from begging to end but I didn't make it to the end.

4 Stars-Ah, such a refreshing tale of two people meeting and clicking. The sweet conversations and looks each of them gave the other. I loved that this was a grown up love story. They thought before they acted, even in the heat of the moment. They both had a past, one much more tragic but they both recognized there was something in each other.

Series overview- I really enjoyed the entire series and very happy I read all 4 books together as one. At times it was a bit repetitive and I get that some things need to be reiterated bc of the series but when reading it as a whole for me I had to look passed that. I also would have love a bit of a different description of some of the words. It seems that baggage was baggage and there was no other word that could be used to change it up. Or how many time Alec said "the ink isn't dry"... other than some minor imperfections I truly enjoyed getting to see Lydia and Sam form a forever bond.
